Survey Reveals Candidates’ Feelings About Varsity Blues Scandal
This week if you have been following the ongoing saga of the so-called “Varsity Blues” college admissions scandal, you’ll know that more sentencings of charged violators will be taking place. The first ever to be sentenced had been celebrity TV star Felicity Huffman, who can invest fourteen days in jail beginning 25 october.
While you without doubt know, the scandal involves parents spending college officials bribes to have their children admitted to colleges, USC in specific, several times through the “side door” of sports coaches. The alleged ringleader for organizing these bribed admissions is Rick Singer, who is believed to have obfuscated the bribes as contributions to colleges through his foundation, customessay which was created to facilitate the effectiveness of parental efforts.
This story is raging into the media for most days and shows no sign of abating. Consequently, the consequence on prospective college candidates has, in a true number of instances, gone to discourage them. Some applicants (and moms and dads) have started to start to see the college admissions plan as innately corrupt and, based on the scandal evidence that has emerged, found themselves reasoning, ” just how can we take on applicants originating from families who are able to manage to buy their way into college?”
